OUR VISION

By utilising our extensive skills base we aim to assist in bringing heritage buildings back into productive use by retaining their historic values within our strict conservation philosophy and where possible sympathetically upgrading elements of the design to more modern standards. Though recycling these buildings is environmentally friendly we also ensure that the methods and materials used have the minimum impact and results in a building with long term sustainability.

Exploring funding options will often enable buildings which are suffering from long term neglect to be rescued and restored with regeneration often impacting on the wider community and leading to the transformation of surrounding areas.

Sometimes a little amount of advice can have larger implications and make the difference to achieving a successful outcome and we are here to help so please contact us.

OUR CLIENTS

Our clients can vary from the owner of a single historic building to those who look after or own multiple buildings of varying types in the public or private sector. We work with existing heritage groups or help to form new groups including building preservation trusts and friends of buildings in need. Often owners of historic buildings are unable to meet the requirements of grant providers and we can help to find sustainable solutions through partnership agreements or alternative funding streams.

Many of our clients are themselves professionals who work within the heritage sector and are completing a single or multi projects that involve work to or are in the vicinity of heritage assets and/or conservation areas. We also work with many who are not regularly involved with heritage and various professionals including local architects will often engage our services for one-off projects and utilise the services we provide.

Due to reductions in conservation services within Local Authorities we often employed to fill the void that the withdrawal of direct conservation management as left. We offer short-term or long-term measures that enable these authorities to still provide the cover and complete the work that a previously directly employed conservation officer provided.

The types of work we undertake include the sourcing of funding and the preparation of the information required to complete a successful application. This can often involve the completion of feasibility studies, architectural plans, and repair schedules, statements of significance, surveys, conservation management plans, development appraisals, property valuations, market research, specialist reports, heritage risk assessments and a breakdown of the full project costs. Ultimately the aim of this work is to find sustainable new uses for historic buildings that are usually at risk of further decay or of being lost forever. We will manage every stage of the project including the construction works and can recommend or work with contractors of your choice and ensure that all is compliant with the latest health and safety regulations.
